TheRawMaterials are a Hip-Hop duo from Akron, OH.
The members are E.Montebello (M.C.) and Vernscurvi (emcee/producer). They are childhood friends and rap partners since the mid 80's! Throughout their lives they've always shared a passion for music. Vernscurvi(Vernon Christian) started out DJing at 15, mastering his craft on the tables and throwing local parties. He met E. Montebello(Eran Washington) through a mutual friend and the two became rhyming partners. TheRawMaterials, as a group, came about sometime in the Mid-90's but was deterred when the two set off for further life adventures. Vern went on to pursue knowledge of recording while E set out for the sun and sand of California. Years later, while the two were on the West coast chilling after re-connecting, Vernscurvi showed up in Cali with an MPC. The two got back to writing a few songs but just for fun. As fate would have it, for personal and family reasons, the two returned to Ohio. E went on to the work force, while Vern, pursued different avenues of the music business. After touring with Dan Auerbach and then the Black Keys, also from Akron, Oh. and seeing the workings of "the biz", the two thought "Why not? A lot of this sh*# sucks." So the two put together a few songs which became a few more. They've been back to performing and recording their upcoming debut "Unearthed". The shows have been great and the buzz is on. With cuts like the Auerbach produced "A.K.", "Uknuhewuzathug" and the bar-fight inducing "Once More(The Blare)", TheRawMaterials are bleeping on the radar.
